Staff Pressure Moves CCSD to Reverse Unsafe Working Conditions
After weeks of relentless fighting, our union members from the Education Support Employees Association (ESEA) and Teamsters Local 14 have successfully pushed the Clark County School District and the principal of Western High School to rescind their unsafe directive that sent custodial workers to work on private property—a decision that jeopardized staff safety. Agreement for $2,000 Retention Bonuses Reached
On January 6, 2022, the Education Support Employees Association (ESEA) and Teamsters 14 came to an agreement with the Clark County School District for $2,000 retention bonuses for regular employees covered by the Negotiated Agreement.

Saved FACES
Education Support Employees Association membership and the community stood together 100 strong at the last CCSD board meeting to save the valuable program of FACES. The actions of ESEA and the many parents, teachers, and support professionals stopped CCSD from eliminating FACES centers.

Won ESPS reimbursement for COVID-19 testing–related expenses
Our education support professionals (ESPs) began 2021 having to test on their own time and at their own expense. In September, ESEA reached an agreement with the Clark County School District (CCSD) to reimburse ESPs for their time and mileage related to meeting mandatory testing requirements—including reimbursement for prior time spent getting tested.

Food Service workers honored by state officials
On July 8, Governor Steve Sisolak, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, and Representative Susie Lee met with ESEA leadership to formally recognize the work of our food service workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that because of their dedication, students and families in Clark County never lost access to food services.
